Process optimization starts with the application of the VSM (Value Stream Mapping) tool, which aims to eliminate waste in the process steps, from the customer’s point of view. In this model we are able to assess the efficiency and added value for the customer.
In some steps it is necessary to use statistical tools from Six Sigma, to reduce variation and shift the indicator average. Many inefficiencies are hidden in simplified averaging or summation analyses. In this context Six Sigma is the most widespread technique for root cause analysis.
